Programme is run in partnership with local schools and a majority of time during the year is spent in school; students undertake 3 different school placements: the 1st 2 weeks are spent in a primary school chosen by the trainee; 2 days a week and a block placement at a 2nd school follow this, and the pattern is repeated in the 3rd school; the 1st block is 5 weeks, the 2nd is 6 weeks; schools are in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire and school and university work is closely linked; major strands are: English, mathematics, science, professional studies and information communication technology; minor strands are: art and design, music, design technology, physical education, geography, history and religious education.
