Median scores of accepted students: SAT Verbal/Critical Reading: 680-790; SAT Math: 700-800; SAT Writing:700-790; ACT Composite: 31-35. We recommend but do not require the TOEFL or the IELTS. A minimum score of 100 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT)—or 250 on the computer-based TOEFL (CBT) or 600 on the paper-based TOEFL (PBT) is expected for all applicants to Duke. While not required for admission, interviews provide an opportunity for the applicant to learn about Duke and for a representative of the university to learn about the applicant's strengths. We have alumni volunteers conducting interviews in forty-two countries worldwide.
