Official Transcripts High School students

Submit official high school/secondary transcript with English translation (students cannot do their own translations) in an official, school-sealed envelope.

Foundation Course

The foundation courses for admission to the College of Business must be completed with a minimum earned grade of C- (C required for transfer courses) in each. Students must also have an EMU GPA of at least 2.50.

English Proficiency

Official test scores must be sent directly to Eastern Michigan University from the following testing agencies: TOEFL (school code: 1201), IELTS, MELAB, or PTE.

Student score reports or copies are not acceptable. Students who would prefer to take the ACT or SAT (school code: 1201) may submit these exams in lieu of an English proficiency test.

Students testing below our minimum requirements and requiring a student visa will be enrolled directly in our Intensive English Program (IEP). The student will receive an updated I-20 for their degree program after completion of the IEP.

Full admission minimum test scores can be found below:

  • SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing Subscore (EBRW): 480
  • ACT English Subscore: 19
  • TOEFL: 61

Financial documents

Official documentation of available funds demonstrates the ability to pay for one academic year of study in United States Dollars (USD). Approved forms of financial documentation must be liquid in nature such as: savings/checking accounts, certificates of deposits (CDs), and U.S. based money market account with immediate withdraw into U.S. dollars.

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems provides a learning environment where the students design, develop and deploy a wide range of integrated, end-to-end business applications and services to enable small, medium and large organizations to become more connected with customers, employees, partners, and suppliers.

Students learn about interoperability and explore road maps with products and technologies such as:

  • instant messaging,
  • live communications,
  • workflows,
  • portals.

Students also learn how to integrate the organizations’ applications and processes, how to perform business-to-business communications and how to develop comprehensive and reliable e-business solutions.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, careers in the Computer Information Systems major are rated as one of the fastest growing professions.

Our Computer Information Systems graduates pursue professional careers as system and business analysts, business application developers, web and mobile application developers, database developers, network administrators, and project managers. Other career paths may include ERP consultants, security analysts, technology consultants, software support technicians and software testers.
