The course uses a form of learning called Enquiry Based Learning that draws on the experience of real practice; from day 1 students are able to see the relevance of what they are learning as they explore case scenarios based around real users of health care services; the 1st year of the course is shared by students undertaking all 4 branches of nursing and introduces the fundamentals of nursing in a range of settings; during the 2nd and 3rd years students acquire the specialist knowledge and skills needed to nurse within children's nursing; the programme consists of 50 per cent university-based learning and 50 per cent related practice in care settings.
