This course is for media graduates who are looking to develop their knowledge of a specific area of film and media studies to a high level of academic achievement; applications are considered in the following areas: Gender in film/television; classical Hollywood; performance theory; interfaces between theatre/film; psychoanalytic theory and film; late 1960s art cinema; British cinema; authorship in film; industrial history; economic and aesthetic interfaces in film; contemporary Hollywood, particularly the 'Blockbuster'; Bakhtinian theory; comic book/superhero movies.
