Cultural Anthropology’s primary area of study is the analysis of cultural phenomena and processes within one’s own society. A cultural concept “in a broad, ethnographic sense” (E.B. Taylor) serves as a starting point. The main aim in the contrastive comparison between “one’s own” and “the other” is to understand the cultural arrangement systems of everyday life, both in the past and present.
