This programme aims to develop students understanding of the fundamental principles of law in 21st century society, not only what has gone before to make the law how it is, but how the law reacts to the real world right now. law is also concerned with communication and their skills in this area are an essential part of their legal education; mooting is encouraged at Sheffield, and our students enter national competitions, having even represented England at an international law moot court; this course is run jointly with the Department of Sociological Studies and is taught by sociologists and criminologists; it has no law content, and whilst it is therefore not a qualifying law degree, it provides a chance to study a wide range of interesting specialist subjects in sociology, social policy and criminology; students are able to learn about social divisions in 21st century society, aspects and elements of social research, methods of legal enquiry and sociological perspectives on crime; a wide range of criminology options are available including the study of victimization, policing and crime prevention.

Расположение

Четвертый крупнейший город Англии известен своей дружелюбной атмосферой, идеальной для общественной студенческой жизни и развлечений. Шеффилд, со 150 лесонасаждениями и 50 парками является самым «зеленым» городом в Англии.

Университет находится в центре Великобритании, всего в 11 км от национального парка Скалистый край и в двух с половиной часах езды на поезде до Лондона.

Через город Шеффилд проходят автомобильные и железнодорожные магистрали страны. В самом городе отлично функционирует транспортная система. Университетский кампус находится в западной части центра города и до него легко добраться на машине, автобусе или трамвае.
