3 core modules; plus optional module 4: the certificate of competence to practise: this module is optional and may be taken concurrently or following completion of the postgraduate certificate; it offers students the opportunity of becoming clinically competent in the prescription, fitting and evaluation of therapeutic footwear.

Offered in 3 5-day theory blocks, each block comprises 1 module; this course focuses on the clinical element of therapeutic footwear and gives practical skills in prescribing and fitting all types of surgical footwear; students must have access to patients who need specialist footwear for the effective management of their foot condition. UWIC cannot provide patients for students undertaking this module.
