The over-riding aim of the programme is to enable students to reach the levels of competence required to become a State Registered Occupational Therapist, able to practice in community and hospital settings, with clients of all ages who have physical or mental health problems or learning difficulties; this course integrates theory and practice in a combination of college and fieldwork-based modules, with some modules providing students with opportunities to learn in a relevant work environment; the programme involves full time periods of clinical practice each year in an occupational therapy context; students work closely with local clinicians who support them in their clinical practice, and also contribute to the teaching on the programme.
