Level 1: Through an induction programme students are introduced to the range of available faciltiies; emphasis is placed on the acquisition of a vocabulary, and the methods students utilise in approaching visual research; at later stages students are required to develop and sustain their own area of research. Level 2: Students continue their personal development through experience of fine art practice; emphasis is increasingly placed on their growing sense of awareness commensurate with critical self evaluation; an elective module allows students to develop their work within print, drawing, sculpture or a specific theoretical module; students are expected to locate appropriate gallery space and to initiate and participate fully in gallery practice. Level 3: Students are expected to demonstrate a higher level of creative independence supported by appropriate documentation; concludes with a degree exhibition which demonstrates a level of study and research skills capable of sustaining their own practice on completion of the course.
