Aimed at library and information staff who are in, or approaching, middle management and who have had sufficient relevant experience to profit from the course.

Taught components in years 1 and 2, followed by dissertation in year 3; tuition is by means of study guides, case studies, and tape-recorded lectures; strong practical element involving project studies which can be carried out in students' own libraries and information centres; this is intended to benefit both participant and their employing organisation; 2 streams are offered in year 2: schools stream (schools' and young people's librarianship) or management stream (systems studies, financial management and collection management).
