Year 1: Common modules that develop basic business skills: numeracy; information technology; working with people; writing business reports; preparing consultancy papers; making presentations; social policy modules include: criminal activity; youth offending; physical and mental illness; homelessness; unemployment and asylum-seeking. Years 2 and 3: Students have the opportunity to work on real projects and are expected to produce work of a standard required in modern business practice; options include: The micro and macro business environment; business law; business organisation; human resource management; employee and organisational development; business ethics; international marketing; consumer behaviour; retail marketing; strategic management; entrepreneurship; production operations; the European Union; Japanese economy; management accounting; strategic financial management; taxation; company reporting and analysis; international banking; options in social policy include: drug use and social policies; ethnicity, 'race' and social policy; social exclusion; health policy; need and well-being; community development; poverty, inequality and social security; poverty, inequality and social security; social care and social work; youth offending: causes and control. Year 2 (social policy): modules include: Health; the criminal justice system; social care; housing and social security; it is possible for students to spend 6 months of this year studying at a university in another European country. Year 3 (social policy): modules on social groups: children; older people; disabled people; drug users.

There are opportunities for all students to study, for 1 semester, at partner institutions in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, The Netherlands, or Malaysia, where the tuition is in English.
