Marine biology All years: Studies begin with a general marine biology module which provides an overview of the variety of marine organisms and their environments; later students have the opportunity to study a module which deals with the biology of the open oceans and to attend a marine focussed field course in the UK; towards the end of the programme students are able to study organisms and habitats of UK coastal environments in detail; this includes attending a further marine biology field trip (self-funded) and a final year module concerned with the behaviour of marine animals; although aspects of the course deal with the open oceans, much of the work is related to coastal marine biology and ecology (and includes areas of transition from land to sea) such as rocky shores, salt marshes and sand dunes. Animal behaviour All years: British Wildlife and Conservation; core biology; form and function; introduction to animal behaviour and welfare; behavioural physiology; preparation for research; vertebrate biology; advanced approaches in animal management; behaviour and management of zoo animals; domestication and behaviour of domestic and captive animals; special topics in animal behaviour.

As well as the subject areas referred to, students can also take a range of other modules available on this and other pathways which make reference to marine organisms, or where the principles covered also have relevance to marine environments; this might include: modules on ecosystems; invertebrate biology or modules involving a case study of the population ecology of seals; Students gain a thorough understanding of how and why animals behave in the ways they do and learn how this knowledge can be applied in areas such as the management and conservation of wild and domesticated animals; students also acquire the skills needed to carry out their own investigations in order to contribute to future discoveries.

Расположение

Наши основные кампусы расположены в Кембридже и Челмсфорде, оба в часе езды на поезде от Центрального Лондона. Кембридж расположен всего лишь в часе езды на поезде от Лондона, до него можно доехать по трассе M11. Из Челмсфорда можно быстро добраться до Лондона, всего лишь за 30 минут на поезде, город имеет хорошее транспортное обеспечение со всей страной.
