There are 2 modules: postgraduate research methods; case studies in applied social research; semester 1: Postgraduate research methods: this is a critical introduction and 'users' guide' to the key methodologies used in social research and it provides the opportunity for each student to begin to develop a specialism in 1 area; semester 2: case studies in applied social research: this is a module driven by practical case studies in examples of applied social research. It also explores how and why we should use case studies: what they can tell us and what they cannot. Assessment methods. The course combines active student learning through individual assignments and presentations with taught sessions which include discussions and group work.

The course offers a full introduction to the theoretical and practical problems involved in: generating data; analysing them; and presenting findings; students are taken through the stages of research from drawing up a research proposal; addressing the ethical issues it might raise; selecting an appropriate quantitative or qualitative methodology; and communicating their findings effectively.

Наши основные кампусы расположены в Кембридже и Челмсфорде, оба в часе езды на поезде от Центрального Лондона. Кембридж расположен всего лишь в часе езды на поезде от Лондона, до него можно доехать по трассе M11. Из Челмсфорда можно быстро добраться до Лондона, всего лишь за 30 минут на поезде, город имеет хорошее транспортное обеспечение со всей страной.
