The course is aimed at exercise and sports science graduates, physiotherapists, chiropractors and sports physicians wishing to continue their academic education and training at the same time as their development in areas that are relevant to their professional needs and practice; the programme is based on the principles of adult learning and reflective practice currently underpinning continual professional development in the healthcare professions; the programme is based on a number of units, which give students the opportunity to learn in areas that are directly relevant and meet their own individual learning needs; at this level, students need to think critically, and to base their judgements on sound research and literature evidence; they also are required to synthesise practical knowledge and justify this using documentary evidence based on their practice experience.
