This course enables students to gain skills appropriate to the design of both sophisticated embedded microprocessor systems and modern computer architectures; in microprocessor design students study topics such as real world interfacing using digital signal processing algorithms and techniques and intelligent control strategies employing neural network and fuzzy logic technology; in computer architecture you will study areas such as cache coherent systems, multilevel memory structures, super scalar architectures and media processors; these studies are underpinned by work on software specification, design and verification.
