Course introduces students to a wide range of subjects; providing understanding of the academic; theoretical and practical constraints of textile fashion and surface design; the normal pattern of study is 80% practical and 20% contextual studies; year 1 offers an initial introduction into a wide range of basic skills for textile and fashion design; in year 2 students choose one of 2 routes: fashion with textiles; or surface design; students also choose 1 of the following specialisms: printed; woven; knitted textiles/knitwear; felted or embroidered textiles; the emphasis of the 2nd year is to improve research design and technical skills; in the 3rd year; students continue to specialise in either fashion or surface design; with an emphasis on independent study.

Расположение

Университету принадлежат два основных кампуса – Ньютон Парк (Newton Park) (на котором обучают всем предметам, кроме Искусства и Дизайна) и Сайон Хилл (Sion Hill) (Факультет Искусства и Дизайна университета Бат Спа). Кампус находится в ближайшем пригороде Бата. Обычно студенты перемещаются на автобусах, на которых можно доехать до центра города. Горд Бат находится всего в 15км от одного из крупнейших британских городов – Бристоля и всего в 90 минутах езды от Лондона.
