Course is divided into 4 taught units: child development with evidence based practice; the child in context: ecological factors; legislation and the professional task for child care practitioners; enabling work-based learning: the facilitation and assessment of professional development.

The regulations for the programme are the university’s standard undergraduate regulations.; you should have already gained 40 level-H credits via the consolidation and preparation for specialist practice unit (formally PQ1), and in addition applicants must also meet the following entry requirements: a GSCC approved qualification in social work; all students must be in an appropriate practice setting and have a suitably qualified practice assessor in place identified by their agency; all students must be supported by their sponsoring agency; the award is designed for qualified child care social workers from statutory, voluntary and private agencies working in all settings.
