Normally applicants require a good Honours degree in a relevant area (sport sciences; social sciences; sociology; social policy; social work; youth studies); applicants without recognised qualifications who have relevant experience may be eligible subject to interview and other processes designed to test their ability to cope with the demands of a taught postgraduate programme.

Every young person engaged in sport deserves full protection and high standards of welfare, whether through nutrition, coaching or parental support; this course is intended to explore and assess the risks and protection needs of children and young people in sport and to engage students in wider debates about risk, safety and surveillance in late modern society; in addition to providing information about child welfare theory, policy and practice as applied to sport, the course also prepares students to commission and to undertake rigorous research, monitoring and evidence-based evaluation of welfare-base provision in sport.

Расположение

Университет расположен в 20 минутах ходьбы (нескольких автобусных остановках) от станции метро «Uxbridge», откуда можно напрямую добраться до Центрального Лондона. Обратно можно вернуться на регулярном ночном автобусе, который останавливается непосредственно возле кампуса. Сам городок Аксбридж также представляет интерес — здесь можно встретить старинные знания и новые современные торговые и коммерческие центры. В городке есть два крупных торговых центра, The Pavilions и Chimes Centre, с различными магазинами, кафе и кинотеатром на 9 залов.
