2 work based (with a counselling placement for which a reflective portfolio and a case study to be produced); 2 personal development planning (students draw up individual development plans with particular emphasis on working towards professional accreditation and engage in activities which support that development); series of workshops (covering a variety of time limited models of counselling and an opportunity to study one model in depth); skills practice (encouraging reflective analysis of recorded counselling sessions); counselling supervision (offering the opportunity for group supervision which will supplement individual supervision and will also address supervision theory); examination of contemporary issues in counselling (such as eating disorders, self harm, addictions etc.)
