A single subject or a combined degree in the chosen subject; other related degrees and industry experience may be considered in some circumstances; plus GCSEs (grade C or above) in English language and mathematics before the PGCE course begins, or equivalents acceptable to the University.

The course is an innovative and intensive programme preparing graduates for the demands of teaching the 11-18 age range in the Secondary sector; students are awarded a PGCE and recommended for Qualified Teacher Status, enabling them to teach in schools on completion of the programme; the course is organised in partnership with schools around Kent and Medway where students spend 24 out of the 36 weeks teaching in 2 different schools.
