Вступительные требования

School of Design High School Course Requirements: 4 years English 2 years Mathematics 2 years Science 2 years Foreign Language 6 electives. Carnegie Mellon requires TOEFL scores of 102 or better on the internet-based TOEFL (as of Fall 2010) or an IELTS score of 7.5 and above. Carnegie Mellon carefully reviews the sub-scores of each of these exams and considers those candidates with reading, listening, speaking and writing sub-scores of 25 or more on TOEFL and 7.5 or more on IELTS to be candidates with high levels of English proficiency. Carnegie Mellon requires either the SAT Reasoning Test, the new SAT Test, or the ACT Test from every applicant.

The Bachelor of Design (BDes) degree is a four-year degree that offers three areas of design specialization: products (industrial design), communication (graphic design) and the design of physical and digital environments. Our curriculum emphasizes the importance of designing for the interactions between people, the built (designed) world and the natural world (environment). CMU has one of the only undergraduate programs in design that enables students to customize their degree. They can choose to specialize in one of the three areas or combine any two in an interdisciplinary concentration. The first three semesters introduce students to all three areas of design specialty and provide them with the flexibility to adjust their path as their interests become clearer.

But if you’re looking to go beyond the nearby vicinity and have mapped out a plan to see more than the obvious, your Carnegie Mellon student ID will double as your bus pass throughout Allegheny County – including the Pittsburgh International Airport.
