Year 1: 7 compulsory modules: common foundation module 1; introduction to professional practice; common foundation module 2; anatomy, oncology and management 1 (Trunk); anatomy, oncology and management 2 (Trunk); competence to practice 1; radiotherapy equipment. Year 2: 8 compulsory modules: Research methods; radiation interactions; anatomy, oncology and management 3 (skin, head and neck); competence to practice 2; psychological aspects of cancer care; radiotherapy planning; radiobiology; palliative and terminal care. Year 3: 7 compulsory modules: Anatomy, oncology and management 4 (CNS); competence to practice 3; extended literature review or research project; inter-professional studies; prescribing and IV injecting; progressive technique; healthcare policy and quality management.

The course provides students with all the core subjects required to meet the Health Professions Council proficiency standards and the College of Radiographers curriculum framework; subjects such as anatomy, physiology and pathology, oncology and radiotherapy practice, physics, equipment and service provision are all included in the different modules of the course; approximately 50 per cent of the course is spent at the University and 50 per cent is spent on clinical placement.
