This course is aimed at senior construction managers working in either new works or maintenance contexts, in building, civil engineering, highways or services disciplines; NVQ level 4 required.

On completion of this qualification and subject to the units chosen, the civil engineering site manager has ability in the following areas: Management (planning, resources, people, plant, equipment, materials, sub-contractors and suppliers, productivity, costs/profit, self-development); contractual (quality, health, safety, welfare and environmental, sub-contractors, suppliers, time, financial, handover/commissioning); organisation requirements (administration, control procedures); legal obligations (design process, marketing, procurement strategy, estimating, strategic management, proactive customer liaison, human resources management and development, reporting and providing advice, monitoring and reviewing performance, organisation structure and change management).
