All students take these seven core units: Professional studies; photographic techniques; computers in photography; historical and contextual referencing; critical study; business practice; materials, techniques and technology. Then 3 specialist units: Studio practice; darkroom practice; visual language in photography; interpreting images; advertising photography; reprographic processes; digital imaging; creating digital images; location photography; fashion photography; multimedia presentation; press photography and photo journalism; curating and participating in exhibitions; specialist practice in photography.

This course provides a thorough grounding in both traditional and digital techniques and skills; the course develops both ideas and concepts in photography and gives students the experience and knowledge to successfully practice as a creative professional photographer; the course is practical in nature with theoretical underpinning knowledge; course runs at the Rhos-on-Sea campus.
