Course encourages exploration of the creative potential of ceramic media and processes; students undertake a rigorous programme of study which incorporates an extensive range of processes including hand building; throwing; slip casting plaster work; glaze and kiln technology; initially there is an emphasis on technical skill; but all projects are intended to develop creative visual and conceptual approaches; projects are both set and individually negotiated and have many and varied outcomes such as figurative sculpture; architectural ceramics; production ware; studio ceramics; design for manufacture; wheel-based ceramics and kiln building.
