The core units are as follows: Professional Studies; photographic techniques; computers in photography; historical and contextual referencing; critical study; business practice and finally materials techniques and technology. Specialist units offered are: Studio practice; location photography; and press photography and photo journalism; these units offer an excellent opportunity to specialise and concentrate on the areas of photography that are of most value and interest for students current employment or the kind or employment they hope to gain.

The course aim is for students to gain experience in all areas of photographic techniques; dark room practice; digital imaging; with emphasis on studio practice; location photography and photo journalism; the course is broken down into a diverse range of units all exploring various areas of the photography industry; allowing the student to study both core units and 3 specialist units.
