Course covers the age range 3-7 and is largely school-based, with additional content being delivered at a separate course centre; it links theory and practice and trainees are given tasks to carry out during their time in school to support teaching and learning; this progresses to taking full responsibility, firstly for groups and later for the whole class during the academic year; successful completion leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests.
