This course gives students the skills and understanding to work as an industrial designer in the boat industry; students acquire both 2D and 3D industrial design skills; as well learning to use the physical and virtual tools to create innovative automotive designs' students also learn the theory and analysis that underpin successful design work; students are given an understanding of naval architecture; plus production engineering and ergonomic requirements for successful boat designs; during the third year students undertake collaborative projects with industry and, in the latter part of that year; apply for an industrial placement (internship); in the final year, students work on substantial design projects that allows them to integrate their knowledge and skills.
