Вступительные требования

Entry requirements Applicants should have an equivalent of first or second class UK honours degree or equivalent in a related discipline, science (chemistry/physics) or engineering. The ideal candidate should have some understanding in the area of materials science, mechanical engineering (or related field), manufacturing, chemistry or physics background. The candidate should be self-motivated, have good communication skills for regular interaction with other stakeholders, with an interest for industrial research. It also requires a minimum of English language proficiency (IELTS overall minimum score of 6.5).

 Why study for a research degree at Cranfield?

This project aims to develop high performance carbon/glass fibre composites to improve the fatigue and crack resistance of composites used in aerospace and automotive structures by nanoscale and using nanomaterials (graphene, carbon nanotubes etc) reinforcement. As a part of this project you will develop joint Innovate UK projects with aerospace, automotive, marine, and wind turbine manufacturers. Innovative advanced composites manufacturing and testing techniques will be highly useful for job opportunities in aerospace and automotive companies like, Airbus, GKN, Rolls Royce, and many other small and medium scale composites manufacturing for renewable energy, marine and construction industry.

Расположение

Cranfield расположен в зеленом кампусе в самом сердце загородной местности Бедфордшира.

До университета легко добраться из Лондона, Оксфорда, Кембриджа и Бирмингема, что упрощает регулярные визиты рекрутеров. Лондонские аэропорты Лутон, Станстед и Хитроу находятся в 30, 60 и 90 минутах езды соответственно и предлагают рейсы в любую точку мира.

Общественные автобусы курсируют от / до Крэнфилда, а также регулярно ходит автобус кампуса до железнодорожного и автобусного вокзалов Милтон-Кейнса. Поезда часто ходят из Милтон-Кейнса в центр Лондона и время поездки занимает всего 45 минут. Ближайшие города Милтон-Кейнс и Бедфорд находятся всего в нескольких милях и предлагают широкий выбор спортивных и развлекательных заведений.
