Students develop the skills and knowledge needed to work in an enhanced role in a range of settings which may include Connexions, careers guidance, youth and community work, education welfare, learning mentors and the voluntary sector; topics include: How young people develop and the influences on their lives; how to build effective relationships with young people to support, develop and guide them; ethical and legal considerations in working with your people; the professions and organisations who work with young people and ways of working with other professions and agencies in a multi-agency way; there is also a work-based learning module to be completed each year.
