Education studies Year 1: Modules include: Perspectives in education; issues in European education. Year 2: Historical and contemporary perspectives on children, teachers and education; development of the individual; contemporary issues in research in education; education, culture, economy and society. Year 3: Adult learners and learning; education dissertation; education and equality: class, race and ethnicity; gender in education; placement. English language Year 1: Modules include: Words in action (an introduction to grammar and linguistics); evolving language (an introduction to the histories of language). Year 2: Sociolinguistics; varieties and styles of language; teaching English language. Year 3: Language in the workplace; psycholinguistics; language, power and identity.

The education studies course focuses on: contemporary educational issues such as information technology in education; gender, race and equality issues; adult learners and the relationship of education with politics; society and culture within both a British and European context; the English language course teaches students how to appreciate, analyse, and use the English language to its fullest extent, through the study of its structure, its history, and the ways it has evolved and is evolving throughout the world.

Расположение

Город Лестер находится в самом центре Англии, на пересечении многочисленных транспортных путей. Он находится недалеко от крупных автомагистралей M1 и A1, что очень облегчает путешествия как на север, так и на юг. M69 и M6 также находятся неподалеку от города и соединяют Лестер с Бирмингем, Уэльсом и всем юго-западным регионом. За час с небольшим из Лестера можно добраться до Лондонского вокзала Сент-Панкрас и станции высокоскоростных поездов Eurostar (на которых можно за 4 часа доехать до Парижа). Аэропорт Ист-Мидлендс с регулярными рейсами в города по всей Европе находится всего в получасе езды от Лестера.
