The main elements of the course are: 3 day introductory residential; audit of students' personal subject knowledge in English, mathematics and science; centre-based training in the core subjects English; mathematics; science; information communication technology; physical education; child development; behaviour management; diversity and inclusion; a 4 week teaching practice during the autumn term; a 5 week teaching practice in a 2nd school and opposite Key Stage; training in the National Curriculum foundation subjects of history; geography; music; art; religious education and primary modern foreign languages at a 3 day residential; 8 week final teaching practice in students' home school.

Вступительные требования

A good Honours degree; GCSE English, mathematics and science grade C or above; have experience of working with children in schools or in more informal settings; show awareness of aspects or issues related to primary school education; have a strong recommendation to train as a primary school teacher from an appropriate referee; meet the Secretary of State’s requirements for physical and mental fitness to teach; declare any criminal background which might prevent employment as a teacher or working with children or young persons.
