GRE General. Prospective students will find an undergraduate background in computer science and economics to be helpful. A degree from an accredited four-year university. Official TOEFL: The minimum scores are 90 for the Internet-based TOEFL, 577 for the paper-based TOEFL. Applicants with GRE verbal scores below 150 are unlikely to be admitted.

The MSEM degree is a joint master’s program of the Departments of Economics and Statistical Science. This distinctive Duke program: Prepares graduates in critical areas of statistics and computation linked to economics, finance and related applications, to be competitive in moving on into professional practice, R&D in commerce, industry and government. Provides a major educational and professional conduit for students moving into professional tracks and/or into doctoral programs (at Duke and elsewhere) in economics, statistical science and allied areas.
