The programme aims to develop a systematic understanding of key aspects of the field of politics enabling students to engage critically with the nature of the subject and its significance for wider human activity; a detailed and specific knowledge informed by developments at the forefront of academic enquiry of specific aspects; a wider understanding of key concepts, theories and methods deployed in the the study of politics; to equip students with ability to describe and comment upon current research and deploy their knowledge and skills in suitable research work of their own employing established techniques of analysis and enquiry.

Расположение

Кампусы Университета располагаются в двух городах: в городе Дарем (основной кампус) и в городе Стоктон-он-Тис (кампус Queen’s). Оба города имеют отличное транспортное сообщение с остальными северо-восточными регионами Англии.

Оба студенческих городка находятся в 2 часах 45 минутах езды от Лондона. Недалеко от кампусов есть два аэропорта - международный аэропорт Newcastle и аэропорт Durham Tees Valley.

До всех социальных и культурных учреждений легко добраться пешком из обоих кампусов.
