Students study the structure of spoken and written English; gain in-depth knowledge of the underlying theory of literacy acquisition and difficulty; study psychological theories of dyslexia; students learn to assess and profile students of all ages and plan a teaching programme and teach it; there is a mandatory attendance study school of 4 days at the start of the course.
