Topics include: knowledge of essential educational theory; awareness of appropriate teaching and assessment methods, including flashcards and overhead transparencies, language videos and audio tapes, roles plays, games, computer-based resources and the internet; strategies to encourage trainees' holistic language development in the four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as knowledge about the country and culture; understanding of the curriculum and current teaching practice; ability to plan lessons effectively; working knowledge of the latest information communication technology tools and software used in schools; students study 12 weeks on campus.

2:2 degree in a relevant area; GCSE mathematics English and mathematics to grade C level or equivalent; satisfactory levels of information and communications technology competence and an appropriate range of practical skills related to applicants’ specialist subject; a demonstrable interest in teaching within the curriculum area, for example: time spent in schools, knowledge of the chosen curriculum area, relevant practical experience.

Расположение

Основной студенческий городок расположен в городке Ормскирк, другие территории Университета находятся в северо-западной части страны и вблизи центральных графств. Студентам предоставляется бесплатный проездной билет на проезд из университетского кампуса до городка Ормскирк и обратно. Кампус находится в 5 минутах езды от крупной автомагистрали. До городов Ливерпуль и Престон можно доехать на поезде за 30 минут.
