2.1 Honours degree in a practical or theoretical arts subject; applicants with degrees in other disciplines wishing to covert to an arts specialism, with other relevant qualifications or with work-related prior learning are considered; all applicants must submit a CD-ROM portfolio of work; plus a short proposal explaining why they wish to be considered for the programme.

The course: undertakes a systematic examination of major international art practices since the late 1970s; analyses the major strands of theory and criticism that have informed art practices and art institutions; explores some of the principal critical and theoretical positions informing the interpretation of contemporary art and its organisational contexts; provides students with a set of critical tools necessary for the advanced analysis and creative organisation of art and contemporary culture.
