2nd Class Honours degree in a relevant discipline; applicants with degrees in other disciplines, or other relevant qualifications and work experience are considered; portfolio of personal work and written proposal should be submitted with the application; in case of EU or overseas applicants this may be in form of high quality slides or photographs of applicant's work.

Programme includes reflection, experimentation, research and realisation around the student's own work and the opportunity critically to examine that work in relation to other contemporary art and issues; facilities are available for stone and wood carving, wood, metal, plaster and clay modelling, casting in bronze, aluminium and cement; students work towards a degree exhibition at which a professional standard is expected.
