2nd Class Honours degree in a relevant discipline; applicants with degrees in other disciplines, or other relevant qualifications and work experience are considered; portfolio of personal work and written proposal should be submitted with the application; in case of EU or overseas applicants this may be in form of high quality slides or photographs of applicant's work.

Programme teaches a range of techniques from murals and mixed media to contemporary tapestry processes (gobelin, felt, papermaking, structures, stitch), as well as drawing, photography, computer generated images and the use of video; students choose the aspects of the medium most appropriate to them; a series of specialist lectures on historical and contemporary tapestry are an integrated part of the programme, as are talks from local and national tapestry artists, as well as visitors from abroad; there are workshop visits and periods of library, museum and gallery study.
