Research students are offered a core support course to train them in basic research skills and methodologies; many projects in architecture and landscape architecture relate directly to public policy and professional practice in both advanced and developing countries; research in architecture reflects the School's holistic approach to the nature and complexity of the built environment, and the ecological and cultural framework within which practice takes place; areas of staff expertise include architectural history; urban design and architectural conservation.
