Compulsory course: anthropological theory and methodology examines basic concepts of social anthropology, the history of the discipline, and recent debates and basic issues of research methodology; options include: anthropology of the self; psychology and anthropology; anthropology and communication, food and anthropology; anthropology of health and medicine; gender and anthropology: sexuality and the body; gender and anthropology: theory and methods; symbolic systems; social anthropology of the Caribbean; anthropology of European Union; economic and political anthropology; anthropological issues in development; urban issues in anthropology; anthropology of art; visual anthropology; gender issues in development; anthropology and political ecology; Indian and peasant politics in Latin America.
