General professional studies; curriculum studies; the course covers all of the National Curriculum subjects; deals in detail with the 3 core areas of: English; mathematics; science; plus supervised school experience of 18 weeks in total.

Degree or higher in English; mathematics; science; art; design and technology; geography; history; music; physical education; child development; educational studies or early childhood education from a UK university; those who have studied these subjects as part of degree or have an A-level in 1 of these subjects in addition to a degree also considered; grade C GCSE/O-level in English language; science and mathematics; or recognised equivalents; an enhanced disclosure certificate from the Government’s Criminal Records Bureau (CRB); an occupational health questionnaire.
