Applicants must have: successfully completed a professional training programme in a recognised conservatoire, or practice-based university programme; a profile of professional practice; successfully undertaken the GSA Conservatoire audition process.

Students are encouraged to observe closely and critically in order to assess and improve performance both in themselves and in others; the learning process is in part enabled through a system of combining students in supervised, effective teaching/learning pairs who are able to monitor and constructively affect each others process and progress.
