The target group is likely to be SEN teachers/tutors with responsibility for SpLD across 1 age range/phase of education (Primary, Secondary of FE or HE) who are responsible for screening and the assessment of learners showing signs and symptoms of SpLD; such teachers/tutors are likely to be involved in advising and supporting classroom/subject teachers and managing learning support assistants.

The course: Develops candidates’ abilities to identify and assess the needs of learners with specific learning difficulties, using observation and evidence based assessment and standard tests; develop candidates’ abilities to write assessment reports and teaching programmes to inform and advise other professionals on learners specific learning needs.
