Programme consists of 6 taught modules and a dissertation of 15,000-20,000 words, related to Biblical interpretation; core modules: hermeneutics for Biblical interpretation (double module); the Bible and culture; dissertation; typical options include: using the Bible in preaching; using the Bible in pastoral care; interpreting Old Testament Hebrew texts; interpreting New Testament Greek texts; scripture and contemporary issues.

Students explore the challenges of Biblical interpretation, in particular in the light of new developments in the area of hermeneutics, including both in Western thinking and in that emerging from various parts of the non-Western world; course aims to enable students to unlock the transforming potential of Biblical texts in various contemporary contexts; teaching takes place in intensive blocks of 1 or 2 days per month per module.
