An honours degree in a relevant subject; at least 50% of the degree content should be in the target PGCE subject; GCSE mathematics and English to grade C level or above; applicants holding a City & Guilds 7407 certificate are eligible for direct entry to the 2nd year; applicants holding a City & Guilds 7307 may wish to consider an APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) claim in order to join the 2nd year; applicants must have gained either full time or substantial part time employment as a lecturer or trainer in a college, training centre, business or industry.
