Core modules: Applied physiology; biomechanics; movement and somatics; psychology for dancers; research methods; plus the whole dancer study for which students track a single student volunteer from the undergraduate programme across 10 weeks applying the knowledge they have gained in the other 4 modules; plus an independant research project.

The course explores the scientific issues underlying dance performance, technical training, dancer health and injury prevention, looking at ways to optimise performance, improve training techniques and enhance dancer potential.
