Areas covered include: Safe working practices in construction: information, quantities and communication; how to apply basic calculations for estimating materials; effective communication with colleagues and supervisors; building methods and construction technology; sketch the basic elements of a building; describe a range of building materials used within the construction industry; describe their suitability to the construction of modern buildings; install single-lap roof coverings to a variable gauge; install plain tile roof covering; install regular sized natural slate to standard roof detail; strip and reclaim pitched roof coverings ; reclaim sustainable components; safe removal, sorting, stacking and fixing of roofing products, for reusing immediately, identifying faulty products and methods of stacking when stripping and reclaiming pitched roof coverings.
