Level 1: Core modules include: foundation project; video production; introduction to audio recording; studio recording techniques; 3-dimensional graphics; authoring and technology context; a progression module at the end of the first year prepares students for next year's study. Level 2: 3-dimensional animation technologies and simulation, creative music skills, production analysis, project management and video post production and the technical context of the students subject, plus group projects. Level 3: Students will work on advanced technical context and select options from the scheme to develop their chosen area of specialism; group project work will be an important feature to enable students to build a portfolio of evidence and an industry standard music or new media to be demonstrated at the final year showcase.

Students will develop a combination of creative technical skills and knowledge and have the opportunity to develop their own personal digital portfolio of work whilst exploring the definitions and boundaries of new media; as students progress they will produce a music and new media production of professional standard relevant to a specialism of their choice; tuition throughout the course involves lectures, tutorials, practical work, computer-based learning and team teaching; all the study areas are brought together through case studies and integrated projects.
